Dissertation Due Date

Please be aware that all dissertations for December 2009 doctoral candidates are to be submitted by 5:00pm on Monday, December 7, 2009*. If you cannot submit it to us by that time, you will be required to register for Spring 2010, and you will be considered a May 2010 graduate. December 7th is the FINAL deadline. It cannot be extended.*

• You must be enrolled each semester until you graduate. Please see the policy on Continuous Enrollment. Don't forget about this policy. It can cause you a lot of problems if you are not aware of it.



*The December 7th deadline is not just an arbitrary date. When students bring their dissertations in after the deadline we are not able to get to the task of posting degrees for the students who have finished their requirements on time, resulting in a delay before the student can get a transcript and when diplomas can be sent out. Student's employment and visa statuses depend on quick posting of their degrees. Therefore we must insist that this deadline be met. If we must continue checking dissertations after the deadline instead of posting degrees and ordering diplomas, students could end up experiencing more than a month delay before their degrees are awarded.
