Program Changes
Students who
wish to change degree objective (e.g., from master's to PhD or vice
versa while keeping the same major), who are currently enrolled in a
degree program and who have not had a break in their enrollment (summer
sessions are the exception), can file a Change in Student Records or Programs of Study form.
Students who wish to change their major (e.g., from a master's of
engineering to a master's of mathematics), must solicit admission to
the Graduate College and to the new major department as if they were a
new admission. Admission to a new major is not guaranteed.
Students who have previously been enrolled in a graduate degree
program, but who have had a break in their enrollment of at least one
semester (summer sessions excepted), are required to apply for readmission to the Graduate College.
Non-degree students must apply for regular graduate admission
once they decide to pursue a specific graduate degree. Admission is not
guaranteed. Not more than 12 credit hours taken while in non-degree
status may count toward a graduate degree.
