Description
The Eller College offers a Ph.D. in Management for 6 concentrations (as well as a Ph.D. in Economics). Thus, you cannot apply to the PhD in Managment without specifying one of the 6 options: read more about each of our Ph.D. concentrations in the appropriate program description and apply to a specific option. Here's a brief summary of our 6 Ph.D. Management options:
Accounting: Core courses develop expertise in economics, behavioral sciences and quantitative methods, and provide a detailed knowledge of contemporary accounting research.
Finance: Students have opportunities to work with faculty in the areas of corporate finance and investments to develop the methodological and analytical tools needed for research and teaching.
MIS (Management Information Systems): The MIS Ph.D. program prepares students for research and teaching careers in all areas of information technology and management. The MIS Department has been ranked in the top five by U.S. News & World Report since the rankings inception and continues to lead the field.
Marketing: Students have opportunities to work closely with an internationally recognized faculty to study the behavioral aspects of marketing focused on consumers, firms, and public policy, acquiring competence in a variety of theories and methodologies from psychology, sociology, anthropology, and economics.
Management and Organizations: Fields of study within the program include organizational behavior, organizational theory, and judgment/decision making, approached through theories and methodologies from psychology, sociology, and management.
Public Administration: Students work closely with members of a nationally recognized faculty to study public management and organizational theory, health care, public finance, natural resources policy, regional and economic development, and criminal justice.
