Minimum Application Requirements
- The Museum Studies Certificate Program (MSCP) provides graduate students with scholarly and practical experience with museological history, theory, and practice.
- This program is not a stand alone certificate, but must be done in conjunction with degree seeking coursework. Please refer to the division website at:
Financial Aid
- The School of Art is able to offer a limited number of fee waivers, fellowships and graduate assistantships for graduate students in good standing. These awards are usually assigned during the Spring semester. The staff posts announcements on departmental bulletin boards as they occur, so it is a good idea to read the information posted. Student employment is also available in some areas. Staying in touch with the program director of your area is always recommended. Unfortunately, the School of Art has no funds available at this time for temporary loans.
Description
12 hours of graduate coursework in museum studies (at least one course is offered per semester in this area of study).
6 hours of an internship in which there is a substantial scholarly component.
These requirements are in addition to the 30 hours required for an MA in Art History, although 6 of the 12 hours of coursework in museum studies can be counted toward the 30 hours for the MA. This certificate program must be completed in tandem with a degree pursuit. All candidates, other than an MA graduates in Art History, are recommended to the certificate program on a case by case basis. Please contact the program coordinator for more details: Brooke Grucella, brookeg@email.arizona.edu
