Minimum Application Requirements
- Applicants to the AzCRTP must hold a graduate degree (eg: DC, DDS, DMD, DO, MD, ND, OD, PharmD, PhD, RN, MS) and possess the appropriate qualifications, experience, and desire to pursue careers in clinical research. Clinical research is multidisciplinary, and scholars in this program should represent diverse academic backgrounds.
- In addition, all applicants to the AzCRTP must be U.S. citizens, noncitizen nationals, or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States. All applicants, when requested, must provide residency status documentation.
- Several criteria are used to evaluate each applicant, including: appropriateness of clinical research interest; commitment to a career in clinical research; appropriate support to participate fully in the program (especially release time and financial support); potential to develop into an independently funded clinical researcher; quality of written expression; quality of professional and academic records; and feasibility of completing the certificate program within two to three years.
Description
The Arizona Clinical Research Training Program (AzCRTP), a graduate certificate program at The University of Arizona, prepares clinician scientists for the complexities of clinical research through high-quality didactic instruction and mentored research experiences. This innovative training program integrates the knowledge and expertise of faculty and staff within the Arizona Health Sciences Center (AHSC) and other University of Arizona departments. The multidisciplinary approach provides opportunities for program scholars to acquire fundamental clinical research skills in a collaborative learning environment.
