Are You Eligible?

  • Committed to service and building community
  • U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident
  • High school degree or GED, college preferred
  • Pass a background check or submit fingerprint card
  • UA Peace Corps Fellow, graduate student, junior or senior preferred

Responsibilities as a Member

Members agree to

  • Complete hours successfully during the grant and academic year
  • Submit hours bi-weekly electronically and verify hours served at site
  • Provide quarterly and end of semester evaluations
  • Facilitate supervisor evaluation and verification of hours
  • Participate in training, 2 service projects, and AmeriCorps events
  • Participate in enrollment and exit interviews
  • Facilitate the completion of the host agency contract

Some Considerations

  • The living allowance is taxable.
  • Members receive a W-2 from The University of Arizona for the living allowance received.
  • No health insurance or childcare benefits are available in this particular AmeriCorps program.
  • The AmeriCorps living allowance does not affect need under the FAFSA determination.
  • AmeriCorps Members have been determined to be generally eligible for other assistance programs including food stamps and AHCCSS.

To apply, submit your resume electronically to rpcf at grad.arizona.edu and submit the AmeriCorps Enrollment Form found linked on the Forms page that follows.

Items which may be requested prior to enrollment include:

  • A copy of your high school or college transcript or evidence of college enrollment
  • Evidence of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Certifications, including fingerprints, first aid, CPR and/or disaster shelter reception training.
  • Completed AmeriCorps Member and Agency contract and pay schedule
  • Participation in orientation
