Before you begin the online application, know that the application must be completed in one sitting. The application will not be saved until you press submit at the end of the application.
  1. Be prepared to list up to three areas of research that interest you on the application. You may consult the list of University of Arizona graduate programs to find research areas that interest you.
  2. Prepare a personal statement that describes the area in which you would like to conduct research if selected for this program. Outline your academic interests, short and long-term goals, and reasons for applying to the Summer Research Institute. Your personal statement should not exceed two double spaced pages. It is suggested that you copy and paste the text of your personal statement into the online application.
  3. Submit an unofficial transcript (with fall grades posted) to The University of Arizona, Summer Research Institute, PO Box 210066, Tucson, AZ 85721-0102.
