1.  Their courses are available to Non-Degree students.

2.  Their courses are available on the desired campus/location.

Admissions Information

Admissions Requirements

Non-Degree seeking applicants must have been awarded a U.S. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university/college to meet minimum admissions requirements.  Applicants whose education was completed outside of the United States, must hold a final degree awarded from a comparable institute of higher education as evaluated under the University of Arizona Graduate College policies.  See our International Graduate Admissions Requirements for more information. 

International Applicants:

  • More information regarding International Non-Degree seeking is available on our website.
  • International applicants should be prepared to provide documentation of their current visa status. 
  • Certain visa holders (H1B, F2, J2) may be eligible to engage in incidental study on the Main campus under their current visa status. 
  • English proficiency is required.
  • International applicants to Arizona Online campus, Global Direct campus, or a Global Microcampus should choose the Distance Learner (DL) visa type in their Application Profile.
 
Standardized Tests

English proficiency is required for international applicants.

Admissions Deadlines

The Graduate College requests that all applications and fees for Non-Degree status be submitted no later than one week before classes begin to avoid unexpected delays and late registration penalties assessed by the Bursar's Office.

International applicants will not be considered for conditional admission by this program.

Core Coursework Requirements

Important Non-Degree Seeking policies:

  • Up to 12 units of graduate credit earned in Non-Degree status may be used towards an advanced degree once a student obtains regular admission to a degree program. 
  • Up to 6 units of graduate credit earned in Non-Degree status may be used towards a Certificate once a student obtains regular admission to a Certificate program.

  • Students must be admitted to a degree seeking program in order to be eligible to be awarded a graduate degree. 
  • Students must be admitted to a Certificate program in order to be eligible to be awarded a Certificate.
  • Students remaining in Non-Degree status are not eligible to be awarded graduate degrees or Certificates. 
  • Non-degree seeking students are subject to a requirement of satisfactory academic progress: Non-degree seeking students must demonstrate satisfactory academic progress each semester by maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA as calculated over the preceding 2 semesters of enrollment as a non-degree seeking student. Students who do not meet this requirement will no longer be eligible for enrollment. 
  • Graduate non degree seeking students must enroll for at least 1 unit every Spring and Fall semester to maintain their status as active students. Students failing to maintain such continuous enrollment must re-apply if they wish to resume their non degree seeking status.
