Program Description

IMPORTANT: This program is part of Arizona Online and may have special fees, enrollment procedures, and/or eligibility restrictions.  Please be sure you are familiar with any unique instructions provided by Arizona Online or by the academic department offering classes you are interested in.

This Online Non-Degree Seeking subplan B is intended for those planning to take classes in fields of study OTHER than Business, Engineering, Mining, Science, and/or Nurse Anesthesia.

If you are planning to take classes in any of the above fields of study, please refer to the Non-Degree Seeking subplan A.

If you are unsure of the correct choice or have questions about enrolling in an online program as a Non-Degree Seeking Student, please contact our Arizona Online Graduate Enrollment Counselor .

Non-Degree students are eligible to enroll in graduate-level courses.  Before you begin an Online Graduate Non-Degree seeking application, it is advisable that you also contact the department(s) offering your courses of interest to ensure that:

1.  Their courses are available to Non-Degree students.

2.  Their courses are available on the desired Online campus.

3.  You apply to the correct campus.

Admissions Requirements

Non-Degree seeking applicants must have been awarded a U.S. Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited university/college to meet minimum admissions requirements.  Applicants whose education was completed outside of the U.S. must hold a final degree awarded from a comparable institute of higher education as evaluated under the University of Arizona Graduate College policies.   See International Graduate Admissions Requirements for more information. 

International students applying for Non-Degree status must be prepared to provide documentation of their visa status and their English language proficiency.  Visas are not provided by the Graduate College for Non-Degree seeking students.

Completion Requirements

Degree Requirements

Up to 12 units of graduate credit earned in Non-Degree status and/or transferred from other institutions may be used towards an advanced degree once a student obtains regular admission to a degree program. 

Up to 6 units of graduate credit earned in Non-Degree status and/or transferred from other institutions may be used towards a graduate certificate once a student obtains regular admission to a certificate program. 

Students must be admitted to a degree or certificate seeking program in order to be eligible to be awarded a graduate degree or certificate.  Students in Non-Degree status are not eligible to be awarded graduate degrees or certificates.

 
Minor Requirements

No minor is offered as a non-degree option.
