Program Description

Non-Degree students may enroll in graduate-level courses.  Before you complete your Graduate Non-Degree seeking application, it is advisable that you contact the department(s) offering your courses of interest to ensure that:

1.  Their courses are available to Non-Degree students.

2.  Their courses are available on the desired campus.

3.  You apply to the correct campus. 

*Applicants to this Science Educators Series may contact Ginger Kouns ( in the College of Science, Business Office to see if you qualify for an application fee voucher. Please provide her with your name and the email address you used to create this application.  If the voucher request is approved, you will receive an email from the Graduate College with further instructions.

Admissions Information

Admissions Requirements

Non-Degree seeking applicants must have been awarded a U.S. Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited university/college to meet minimum admissions requirements.  Applicants whose education was completed outside of the U.S. must hold a final degree awarded from a comparable institute of higher education as evaluated under the University of Arizona Graduate College policies.   See International Graduate Admissions Requirements for more information. 

International students applying for Non-Degree status must be prepared to provide documentation of their visa status and their English language proficiency.  Visas are not provided by the Graduate College for Non-Degree seeking students.

Admissions Deadlines

The Graduate College requests that all applications and fees for Non-Degree status be submitted no later than one week before classes begin to avoid unexpected delays and late registration penalties assessed by the Bursar's Office.

International Conditional Admission
International applicants will not be considered for conditional admission by this program.

Completion Requirements

Degree Requirements

Up to 12 units of graduate credit earned in Non-Degree status and/or transferred from other institutions may be used towards an advanced degree once a student obtains regular admission to a degree program. 

Up to 6 units of graduate credit earned in Non-Degree status and/or transferred from other institutions may be used towards a graduate certificate once a student obtains regular admission to a certificate program. 

Students must be admitted to a degree or certificate seeking program in order to be eligible to be awarded a graduate degree or certificate.  Students in Non-Degree status are not eligible to be awarded graduate degrees or certificates.
