UA Graduate Education moves up in NSF Rankings

Each year, the National Science Foundation produces its Survey of Earned Doctorates. The University of Arizona performed particularly well on key measures in the 2015 report which was released earlier this week.

  • UA moved up in the rankings from #9 to #7 in PhDs awarded to Hispanic or Latino students in the five year totals, 2011-2015
  • UA continues to hold the #1 position in PhDs awarded to American Indian or Alaska Native students in the five year totals, 2011-2015
  • UA ranks #25 among US universities in doctorates awarded overall
  • UA is ranked #7 in producing PhDs in the physical and earth sciences
  • UA is ranked #20 in producing PhDs in psychology and social sciences
