Arizona Works Tuition Scholarship


The UA Graduate College with the assistance of the Marshall Foundation and the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Education and Social and Behavioral Sciences has created the Arizona Works Tuition Scholarship in order to incentivize Arizonans to enroll in UA master’s programs in these colleges that meet the workforce needs of the State.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must

  • Be newly admitted as a regular student for Fall 2015 one of the following programs:

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Masters of Agricultural Education – Career & Technical Education
MS in Agricultural and Resource Economics
MS in Animal Sciences
MS in Microbiology
MS in Natural Resources (Ecology and Management of Rangelands; Fisheries Conservation and Management; Natural Resources Studies; Watershed Management & Ecohydrology; Wildlife Conservation and Management)
MS in Plant Pathology
MS in Plant Sciences
MS in Soil, Water and Environmental Science
MS in Water, Society and Policy

College of Education
MED in Educational Leadership
MA in Educational Psychology
MA in Higher Education
MA in Language, Reading and Culture
MA in Special Education (Online only)
MA in Teaching and Teacher Education
MED in Teaching and Teacher Education (aka Teach Arizona)

College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
MA American Indian Studies
MA in Anthropology: Applied Archaeology
Masters in Development Practice
MS GIS Technology (in-person and online)
MA Journalism
MA Library and Information Science
MS Linguistics-Human Language Technology
MA Linguistics-Native American Linguistics and Languages
MS Mexican American Studies
MA Teaching English as a Second Language

Preferred Criteria

  • Individuals underrepresented in the fields of the participating programs, and

  • Individuals who speak a second language widely spoken in Arizona and necessary to serve the diverse populations of the State.

The recipient will receive $3000 for Fall 2015. This award applies to Arizona resident tuition only.

**Please Note: If the recipient has received an alternate means of tuition coverage such as a graduate assistantship or the UA employee benefit of qualified tuition reduction, the Arizona Works tuition award will only cover the unpaid portion of resident tuition.
