In order to be considered for a Graduate Assistant/Associate position, a graduate student must:
Be admitted to a graduate degree seeking program. Students enrolled solely in Certificate programs, Law (JD), Medicine (MD), Pharmacy (Pharm), Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and non-degree seeking programs are not eligible for GA appointments. |
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Admission GPA is considered for this requirement if the student is newly admitted. A student must also maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during their appointment. Hiring exceptions can be made but must be requested by the hiring unit. |
Be enrolled in at least 6 graduate level units. Undergraduate or audited courses do not satisfy this requirement. Appointing Units may also require a higher enrollment and international students may have different enrollment requirement minimums based on Visa status. Please check with ISS for details regarding international student enrollment requirements. |
| Meet any additional University of Arizona employee and/or appointing departments' requirements for the position. |
International students from non-English speaking countries must demonstrate English Speaking Proficiency. |
