Why support graduate students?
Economic impact: Graduate students are an important component in the engine of innovation, and these discoveries drive economies from local to global scales.
Societal impact: From social service to healthcare to post-secondary teaching to the technology sector, an ever-growing number of professions are requiring graduate degrees. The in-depth training these students hone within their graduate program provides the expertise to improve their communities and be leaders of change.
The benefits of graduate education are at times out of reach for some students due to financial limitations or personal circumstances. Your support will open doors for these students by allowing them to focus on expanding their knowledge and skills.
Graduate student experiences are filled with intense discipline-specific training that in addition to coursework can include teaching, research, and community engaged experiences. As a donor, you can support these students across the lifecycle from initial steps (recruiting the best students) to final degree elements (conference presentations, certification exams, etc)
Successful careers require discipline-specific knowledge complemented with professional development competencies. Your investment in these programs will ensure that graduates of the University of Arizona will be leaders of teams tackling the Grand Challenges we face.
