Summer Session

Graduate study at the University of Arizona is also available to students during Pre-Session, Summer Session I and Summer Session II.

Many departments encourage students to conduct individual research in their specific fields during the summer. Courses through which a student is able to conduct individual research are listed under the respective department, but students must obtain the consent of the course instructor(s) before registering.

Students wishing to enroll during the summer must be officially admitted to the Graduate College. Applicants must submit the appropriate application and fee, meet all entrance requirements, and be officially admitted by the Graduate College prior to the beginning of the appropriate summer session.

Graduate credit earned at The University of Arizona Summer School in Guadalajara, Mexico, may be used in advanced degree programs where appropriate.

In certain departments, provisions can be made for teachers in-service and others who are unable to attend The University during the regular fall and/or spring semesters. Students that can only attend summer session classes may be eligible for "Summer Only" Attendance.
