The Planning Degree Program prepares students to solve land use and community issues in contemporary society. The 2 year M.S. program exposes students to core courses in planning history, theory, law, and techniques and concentration courses in preparation for the profession of planning.
Typically students complete 46 units. A student who has completed an undergraduate degree in Planning or who is a mid-career specialist returning for a degree may have their requirement reduced to fewer credits with the approval of the Director, School of Landscape Architecture & Planning. In no instance, however, will a student be allowed to take fewer than 30 credits.
The program is specifically designed to expose students to the interdisciplinary nature of most planning problems. The course work provides a mixture of theoretical and practical perspectives on diverse planning issues. Interested persons should contact the Planning Degree Program for further information.
