Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad
For Ph.D. students in area studies and modern foreign languages who will advance to candidacy by December 2008

Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Award
The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship Program provides opportunities to graduate students to engage in dissertation research on modern foreign languages and area studies for 6-12 months in Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, South Asia, the Near East, East Central Europe and Eurasia, and the Western Hemisphere (Canada, Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean). This program does not fund projects in Western Europe. The program expects to award 150 fellowships ranging from $15,000 to $60,000.
All students who intend to apply should submit an Intent to Apply Form by September 15. All applications from the UA must be submitted for internal review to the Graduate College, Attn. Georgia Ehlers, by Monday, October 1, 2007. All proposals are submitted by the institution.
Workshops for the Fulbright-Hays DDRA are scheduled for Thursday, September 13, 3-5 pm, SBSRI Conference Room, 115C1 Social Sciences and Monday, September 17, 11am-1pm, Tubac Room, 4th level Student Union.
DEADLINE: September 15 for Intent to Apply form to Graduate College; October 1, 2007 for application to Graduate College

PEO Scholar Award

For women who are US or Canadian citizens nearing completion of the doctoral degree.
Students must be expecting to graduate between May 2009-May 2010.
