UA Celebrates Opening of Mexican Partnership Center: September 25-29, 2015

To celebrate the grand opening of the Centro de Estudios Mexicanos en Tucson (CEM-T) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), UA's office Global Initiatives is hosting a series of events held September 25th to September 29th, 2015. The Graduate College is proud to be well-represented in these activities.

Did you know that when Dr. Andrew Carnie isn’t studying linguistics or leading a team investigating the syntax, phonology and phonetics of Modern Scottish Gaelic, writing articles and books, or overseeing the Graduate College he is most likely off doing international folk dancing or square dancing?

That’s right! And now - back by popular demand -  he invites you to attend his event, Dancing with the Dean on the Green. This is a great opportunity to interact with Dean Carnie in a relaxed setting, learn fun dances, and meet other UA graduate students.

UA Undergrads Invited to Apply for Grad School Prep Program: November 15 Deadline

UROC-PREP and STAR are year-round undergraduate research and graduate preparation programs offered through the Graduate College's Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC). These programs are for underrepresented UA students interested in graduate education (Master’s or PhD) and are open to students in all majors.

UA Welcomes US Peace Corps Director to Tucson Sept. 22

The University of Arizona Coverdell Fellows Program is pleased to host Carrie Hessler Radelet, United States Peace Corps Director, when she visits Tucson on Tuesday September 22, 2015. Ms. Hessler Radelet will be attending a special recruitment activity at Pima Community College in the afternoon; that evening, she will be joining an event with the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona.

The Graduate College's Office of Diversity and Inclusion is sponsoring a Graduate & Professional Students of Color  welcome reception in partnership with the UA Graduate and Professional Student Council. There will be a reception/networking area with food on one side of the ballroom, and a small resource fair featuring campus services that support graduate students.

The University of Arizona community is cordially invited to attend the 20th Annual Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium Poster Session and Closing Ceremony on Monday August 10, 2015 in the Student Union North Ballroom from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. One hundred eighty-six graduate school-bound undergraduate students from schools across the United States and Latin America will exhibit their summer research.  These outstanding students have participated in a 10-week intensive summer research program under the supervision of a UA faculty mentor.

Graduate Orientation 2015

Graduate Orientation 2015 will take place on Wednesday, August 19th, 2015, from 8am to 2pm. Information sessions will be presented on a variety of topics to help you make the transition to graduate school, including financial aid and funding, student health insurance, and career services for graduate students.
