About
Thesis & Dissertation Tuition Scholarships are for non-resident students who are within 2 years of completing their degree and only working on their thesis or dissertation. These scholarships are designed to reduce the tuition for these students from the non-resident tuition rate to the resident tuition rate. The total number of awards provided each semester is contingent on the availability of funds.
Funding is limited. Please note that students must be registered for the correct number of units BEFORE the request is submitted.
Eligibility
Students must be:
- A non-resident graduate degree-seeking student for tuition purposes (master's, doctoral, or S.J.D.) (graduate students enrolled in UA Online programs are not eligible to be nominated),
- Enrolled for 1 to 6 units of 900-level units ONLY for the term of award (units through UA Online cannot be covered),
- Within two years of degree completion, and
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Instructions
Students must be recommended by their academic units using the Thesis & Dissertation Tuition Scholarship form. Students may not apply directly. Students must be non-residents for tuition purposes and enrolled for the 6 or less units of 900 only at the time the recommendation is submitted. Form is available only after fall course registration opens and fall tuition is set (generally by June 1).
