The Graduate College allocates Graduate College  Fellowship funding (cash awards) to the academic college deans as block grants to recruit and retain top international or domestic graduate students. Academic college deans allocate to individual academic units or retain centrally to award eligible University of Arizona degree seeking graduate students. 

The minimum award is $1,000 per semester for Master's students and $2,500 for doctoral students.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration of an award, the student must minimually meet the following Graduate College criteria. Academic colleges and/or academic units may set higher requirements.

  • Admitted to a graduate degree granting academic unit at the UA (Certificate only, Arizona Online and MD only students are not eligible),
  • In good academic standing, and
  • Have an admitting or cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Instructions for Academic Units

  • The minimum award for Graduate College Fellowships is $1,000 per semester for Master's students and $2,500 for doctoral students
  • Full year awards are strongly recommended to allow the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to coordinate all aid for the academic year.
  • Awards are processed using UAccess Student, External Awards using the college's associated item type under Graduate College account 2558439. Please contact the Graduate College (information below) with questions concerning the correct item type. 
  • Information on processing the award may be found here
  • Select Julie Treanor or Rachel Nielsen for approval once the award is entered into UAccess Student 
  • Reports are available in UAccess Analytics to support academic units in tracking awards. Analytics and Reporting>Dashboards>Student>Student Fin Aid & Fin Details>Student Awards.
  • Deadline to award students for current academic year, including summer, is June 1 annually.
  • Funds do not roll over from year to year.
