Program Additions or Changes

In most cases students must apply via Graduate Admissions to any program they wish to pursue. However, there are some changes and additions that are allowed within a program. Specifically, doctoral students in good academic standing may add the master’s degree to their doctoral degree if they have not already earned a master’s degree in the field. Graduate students in good academic standing and in an approved “stackable” program may add a graduate certificate or the approved master’s degree to their degree stack. A doctoral student may change from their doctoral degree to a master’s degree in the same program. A master’s student may change from a master’s degree to a certificate in the same program. A graduate student in good academic standing may change from one subplan, emphasis, or concentration to another in the same program. In these cases, graduate students may request to change their program or add a new program via our “Program Additions and Changes” form.
